Dr Myron Wentz is the founder of Usana Health Science. He has a Ph.D., in Microbiology and Immunology.
The first company he founded in 1972 is called Gull Laboratories . It is the World leader in human-cell culture and medical-diagnostic technologies and foremost in growing billions of cells for the sole purpose of the detection of viral diseases. It developed the first commercially available test kit for the Epstein-Barr virus, which is still being used in major hospitals today.
However, he realized that his diagnostic essays did not help to prevent diseases. Thus, using his research experience in understanding the nutritional requirements of the human cell, he shifted from disease diagnostics to health maintenance and founded USANA Health Sciences in 1992.
His vision for the company is to manufacture the highest quality, science-based products that people can trust — what is on the label is what is in the bottle — providing maximum bioavailability for better health around the world and giving everyone the opportunity to live a full and better quality of life.
